Pakistan Senate breaks into ruckus after Chinese 'spy-cameras' found in polling booths

PPP's Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar has accused Pakistan's intelligence agencies of installing the cameras to boost support for the Imran Khan-backed candidates.

In anor embarrassment for Prime Minister Imran Khan, a massive ruckus broke out at Pakistan's upper house of Parliament on Friday morning after Opposition party leers found as many as six spy-cameras at polling booths hours before Senate was to begin casting votes for  Chairman post. 

In nick of time, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and Dr. Musik Masood Malik reportedly landed upon secret 'Chinese' cameras placed right over polling booths stirring anor controversy in alrey contentious elections for Senate Chairman.

Taking to Twitter, two shared photographic evidence from incident which shows how cleverly pinhole cameras were installed inside booth along with tiny ones hidden inside screws of doors. Following shocking discovery, house broke into an uproar with voting process being disrupted. session was later journed till 3 PM.  secret ballot was to be held today to elect Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Senate.

Speaking to reporters after incident, Senator Khokhar accused Pakistan's intelligence agencies of installing cameras to boost support for Imran Khan-backed candidates. He also hinted at link between incident and presence of ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)-backed Chairman candidate- Siq Sanjarani hours before voting saying, "Credible sources in senate staff disclosing that Siq Sanjarani left senate building 5.30 in morning!"

Outgoing Pakistan Senate Chairman Siq Sanjarani is facing a tough contest against  opposition's newly elected Senator Yusuf Raza Gilani who has been nominated to face him by Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)- an alliance of 11 parties. 

As per sources, authorities have ordered a probe into incident and removed spy camera devices from Pakistan Senate.

Notably, this incident comes just days after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan managed to restore legitimacy of his government by winning  vote of confidence in Parliament, securing 178 votes amid mounting pressure by Opposition.
