Pakistani Taliban terror group resurfaces and threatens women and kids

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a terror group, has resurfaced in the tribal regions with announcing warnings for women, children and health workers.

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which was hiding in its prime hideout in former Federally ministered Tribal Areas (FATA) has resurfaced. Even though Pakistani government confirmed its successes in tribal region yet TTP seems to again gain power. organisation declared its comeback in region with IED blasts and also warnings which are meant to create a sense of fear among women and children.

Kunwar Khuldune Shahid for Diplomat has recently reported several incidents involving TTP operatives which are giving rise to terror in several Pakistani cities. TTP nts were arrested from Faisalab and Gujranwala recently. terror-group was destroyed after Operation Zarb-e-Azb in 2014 but is again gaining power. It was reported in August that TTP released several warnings which restricted listening of music in residential area of Miranshah, women were t allowed to step out on street without a male accomplice and also a ban on polio vaccination. TTP also executed IED blasts in tribal regions during month of August. Shahid shared a mess by TTP saying, “We remind you [residents] that similar statements issued by Taliban several times in past h fallen on deaf ears, but this time we are going to take to task those who violate Taliban order. re will be use of DJs, neir inside house r in open fields and those igring warning will be responsible for consequences."

warnings are t restricted to women and children. uprising terror-group has issued alerts for health workers who are working with polio vaccine to ericate polio from country. Pakistan this year reported 72 people struck with polio this year. polio resurgence in Pakistan is a major concern alrey and TTP can make things worse. Pakistani government has assured military presence and various military operations in region, but its failure and rebound of TTP le to criticism. Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM), which is a political party has propagated resentments against military. political party projects working in favor of local people by highlighting ir concerns and shortcomings of military offenses.

Shahid furr quoted from Ayesha Siddiqa, author of 'Military Inc.: Inside Pakistan's Military Ecomy', said that it's t unusual for TTP to resurface in tribal region as re is support from military, highlighting connection between TTP and military. PTM was constantly trying to bring issue to everyone’s tice. writer believes that if Americans leave Afghanistan under rule of Taliban, Pakistan will be worst affected. However, Lieutenant-General Talat Masood said re is intention of Pakistan to support Afghan Taliban.

"y shouldn't let Afghan Taliban become a dominant presence in Afghanistan, because that will have serious ramifications for Pakistan. [ TTP's reemergence] is evidence of that," Masood said.
