Pakistan's Foreign Minister to attend signing of US-Taliban peace deal in Doha

With close proximity of the state with the Taliban, Pakistan, in tune with the militants, has always attempted to weaken the democratic government in Kabul.

Pakistan on Tuesday was invited by Qatar to attend signing of iconic peace deal between US and Afghan Taliban in Doha on Saturday. deal if signed might end 18-year-old bloody war in Afghanistan. Qatar's ambassor to Pakistan Saqr bin Mubarak, on behalf of Qatari Foreign Minister, extended an invitation to Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday, state-run Rio Pakistan reported.

Foreign Minister of Pakistan welcoming peace deal between Taliban and US said that Islamab h always held view that re was military solution to Afghan conflict. He said Pakistan and Qatar have played a "pivotal role" in furring Afghan reconciliation process. Qureshi also expressed confidence that peace deal will le to intra-Afghan dialogue.

longest conflict of United States killed over 2,400 American soldiers since late 2001, n country inved Afghanistan after 9/11 terror attack on Twin Towers, calling it a war on terror.  US currently has less than 14,000 troops in Afghanistan, but military officials would t confirm exact number. United States inved Afghanistan with motive to dismantle Al Qaeda, which sought safe heaven in country, by removing Afghan Taliban from power.

Pakistan's role in Taliban talks 

Taking credit for imminent peace deal between United States and Afghan Taliban, Pakistan Foreign Minister boasted of country's role in negotiations on February 22.  Pakistan's statement comes after a week-long "reduction in violence" between two parties came into force on Friday Pakistani Foreign Minister said that his country has fulfilled all promises me to US by playing its role in 'successful' negotiations. A successful peace deal between Taliban and US will le to pullout of American troops from Afghanistan, bring 18-year-old war to an end. 

Islamab has always welcomed peace deal between Taliban-US. With close proximity of  state with Taliban, Pakistan, in tune with armed group, has always attempted to weaken democratic government in Kabul. However, Pakistan's foreign policy in Afghanistan has also kept India in mind. Islamab's Afghan policy has been motivated to counter New Delhi's influence in Afghanistan, considering India's backing for government of country, which ignited hope of democratic rmalcy in war-torn country.
