Pakistan's former PM Imran Khan says PTI 'ready' for elections, but on one condition

Pakistan's erstwhile Prime Minister Imran Khan declared that PTI is all set for joint elections, and gave an ultimatum to the incumbent government.

Pakistan's erstwhile Prime Pinister Imran Khan declared that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party is all set for joint elections, given that current government dissolves remaining assemblies by mid-May this year. In a video dress from his Zaman Park estate on Saturday, PTI chief gave ultimatum of May 14, by which his party would be prepared for countrywide elections on condition that assemblies are dissolved. 

"If assembly is dissolved before May 14, we are rey for elections in whole of Pakistan," he said in a video shared on Twitter, emphasising that "it will be a national election and we feel we are rey for it". "This is only way political stability will be achieved, ecomy will improve and conditions of people will transform," he continued.

ex-PM also said that he believes that incumbent government has malicious intent behind its suggestion that a new budget must be passed prior to elections. “I sense b intentions in this. Win polls first, get five-year mandate and n pass budget," he said, pointing out that “what’s point of m presenting a budget when someone else will have to carry weight of it”.

Imran Khan threatens to go to Pakistan's apex court

According to Khan, “real budget” would be one that will be approved by new government after elections, as assemblies being dissolved after budget is rolled out would be “unacceptable” for PTI. “We are rey for joint elections if you are rey to dissolve assemblies by May 14. If you are t n Supreme Court has alrey ordered Punjab elections on May 14 and after that, we are going to apex court for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections," he said.

PTI leer also anunced that he will be partaking in rallies next month in three provincial capitals of Pakistan. "I will le rally in Lahore at 1 pm from Liberty till Nasir Bagh. Qureshi will le Islamab rally at same time and Pervez Khattak will le Peshawar rally," he revealed.
