'PoK residents ready to join India': Pakistani activist amid uprising against Sharif govt

PoK activist Amjad Ayub Mirza has said that residents of PoK and Gilgit-Baltistan are ready to join India as anger grows against the Pakistan government.

' residents of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) are rey to join Indian Union', said PoK activist Amj Ayub Mirza as anger among public continues to grow against Shehbaz Sharif government. With a scarce foreign exchange reserve and heavy debt, Pakistan government has raised taxes on basic necessities which has provoked Pakistanis to carry out massive anti-government protests in both PoK and illegally held Gilgit-Baltistan. 

"People are out on streets because re is no food, re is no flour, and in PoJK, in one day, y have increased price of wheat by Rs 1,200. People are fed-up. government depots for flour are locked. re is no flour re. People in almost every city of PoK are protesting, even students, lawyers, civil society and women are protesting", Mirza said.

sharif government has levied heavy taxes on over 135 items of daily use including wheat flour. With just under $5 billion in forex reserve, Pakistan has $274 billion of total public debt which has brought it on brink of defaulting. 

Witnessing furious upsurge of protests in Pakistan, Mirza said that youth is now raising slogans demanding 'toote rishte jodd do' (rebuild broken relations) meaning y are willing to join Lakh and J&K inste of residing in cash-strapped nation. anger in Gilgit-Baltistan has also been fuelled by 'Khalsa Sarkar Tax', which transfers any barren land in region automatically to government of Gilgit-Baltistan for setting up security forces camp.

ongoing financial crisis has also given locals an opportunity to voice ir anger against discrimination y have faced for seven deces. Blaming government for being negligent toward PoK, residents have warned y will not allow ministration to function if issues are not resolved. 

Shehbaz Sharif's plan to rescue Pakistan's economy

Pakistani PM is now seeking financial aid from several nations to rescue his country from economic crisis. A total of $9 billion has been pledged by several nations such as France, China, Japan, USA, and organisations like World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Union and Islamic Developmemt Bank.

Sharif, however, recently mitted that seeking loans from friendly countries is now turning embarrassing for him as it is not a permanent solution considering mountain of debt len over country.
