Peranbu trailer: Mammootty’s apt return to Tamil cinema with a gripping, emotional thriller
One of the actors to have featured in films of numerous languages over his career spanning more than four decades, Malayalam superstar Mammooty is back in Tamil cinema with ‘Peranbu’. The trailer of the movie was unveiled on Saturday and the intriguing, emotional thriller seems to be to the apt way for the actor to return to a non-Malayalam movie.

The veteran plays the character of Amudhavan and the plot of the movie revolves around his equation with his daughter Paapa, played by Sadhana.
Mammoootty is in fine form as seen in the trailer and showcases a wide range of emotions from angry, disappointed, happy, confused to helpless.

The visuals of a knife, accident, doll and numerous characters with intense expressions show that there is a mystery that is there to unravel. The trailer concludes with Mammootty’s voice-over where he narrates his story to make viewers realise about their own blessed lives.

The movie has been internationally acclaimed, being the official selection at film festivals like Rotterdam, Shanghai and International Film Festival of India.
‘Perambu’ also stars Anjali, among others and is written and directed by Ram. The music has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and lyrics have been penned by Vairamuthu, Karunakaran and Sumathi Ram.

According to reports, a Malayalam version of the film has also been made. ‘Perambu’ will be hitting the theatres in February.
Apart from his Tamil venture, Mammootty will also star in Telugu movie ‘Yatra’ where he plays the role of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Even this venture will be hitting the screens in February and fans of the actor will be treated to his two back-to-back releases in non-Malayalam languages.
