Peru extends coronavirus-linked national state of emergency until Oct 31
Peru President Vizcarra said that the national emergency might extent until the rest of the year as the country recorded 6,235 confirmed cases on September 25.

On September 25, Peruvian government extended national state of emergency until October 31 in order to stem spre of vel coronavirus, an ANI report confirmed. South American country has h worst fatalities rate in world, figures tallying to 86 per 100,000 population. President Martin Vizcarra said that national emergency might extent until rest of year, ding, that extension until end of month ahe was me.
“ state of emergency will be in place until end of year, this is idea,” President Martin Vizcarra, ANI quoted Vizcarra, citing a local RPP rio brocast.
With more than 6,235 confirmed cases recorded as of September 25, country has hit a total of 795,584 cases, according to global coronavirus tally. At least 68 people succumbed to COVID-19 on September 25, taking death toll to 32,037. Peru, with world’s sixth-largest caselo, imposed state of emergency on March 16. Presidential orders restricted citizens from exercising ir rights of liberal movement and personal security. A national curfew at night from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. (local time) exempting Sundays, was also imposed across country to limit rate of transmission of COVID-19, according to an official press release on government’s website.

Social garings prohibited
Children under of 14 and ults over 65 have been allowed to step out only for essential movements, and orwise were vised to remain indoors. Social garings, including indoor assembly of family members, were prohibited by Peru government. In quarantine areas, such as Amazonas, Mre de Dios, Cajamarca and several ors, only one person per family was permitted to go outside during n-curfew hours, according to Peruvian government’s quarantine measures.
