PM Modi, Xi Jinping to participate in 5-day virtual 'Davos Agenda Summit 2021'
PM Modi and Chinese Prez Xi Jinping will be among the top world leaders who will participate in a 5-day virtual Davos Agenda Summit of the World Economic Forum

Later this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping will be among top world leers to participate in a five-day online Davos nda Summit of World Ecomic Forum (WEF). Union ministers including Narendra Singh Tomar, Nitin Gkari, Smriti Irani, Piyush Goyal and Dharmendra Prhan along with top business leers such as Mukesh Ambani and Anand Mahindra will also be a part of this event.

Geneva-based organisation is hosting an online event, named 'Davos nda Summit' from January 25-29. This online summit will witness several hes of state and government deliver special dresses and eng in dialogue with business leers at start of a 'crucial year to rebuild trust'. WEF will host its physical annual meeting in May in Singapore as against regular venue of Swiss ski resort town of Davos.
Leers to participate in Davos Summit
PM Modi, Xi Jinping, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, South Korea President Moon Jae-in, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore are hes of state and government who have confirmed ir participation in World Ecomic Forum Special Annual Meeting 2021, WEF said in a statement.

WEF's Davos 2020 summit was last major global event that took place before COVID-19 pandemic gripped world. 'Davos nda' will also mark launch of WEF's 'Great Reset Initiative'' and begin preparation of special Annual Meeting in spring, said Geneva-based entity, which describes itself as an international organisation for public-private cooperation.

While WEF annual meeting for 2021 will be held during May 13-16 in Singapore, high-profile summit will return to Davos in 2022. Davos nda 2021 will convene under me 'A Crucial Year to Rebuild Trust'.

Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of WEF said that in context of COVID-19 pandemic, need to reset priorities and urgency to reform systems have been growing stronger around world.
"Rebuilding trust and increasing global cooperation are crucial to fostering invative and bold solutions to stem pandemic and drive a robust recovery. This unique meeting will be an opportunity for leers to outline ir vision and dress most important issues of our time, such as need to accelerate job creation and to protect environment", he ded.
