Polish president meets Pope Francis at the Vatican

Polish President Andrzej Duda met on Friday with Pope Francis at the Vatican during his first official trip abroad since his re-election.

Polish President Andrzej Duda met on Friday with Pope Francis at Vatican during his first official trip abro since his re-election.

occasion also marked Francis' first post lockdown meeting with a He of State.

President's wife, Agata Kornhauser-Duda, accompanied her husband.

Earlier in week, during his three day visit to Italy, Duda met with Italy's President Sergio Mattarella and Premier Giuseppe Conte.

Polish President started his state visit to Italy on Wednesday with Spallanzani Hospital where he signed an agreement for joint research on a COVID-19 vaccine and rapies.

On Thursday Polish President went to Montecassino, 150 kilometres (93 miles) south of Rome, site of one of most famous and tragic World War II battles, which saw more than 1 thousand Polish soldier perish while fighting German army.
