Various Indian politicians, international diplomats, celebrities, and netizens have paid their tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary

On occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's 150th  Birth Anniversary, several politicians, celebrities, and netizens paid tribute to him with various tweets since morning of October 2. Gandhi, who is referred to as 'Far of Nation' in India was epitome of peace and nviolence who paid a pivotal role in Indian independence movement. To hour 'Bapu', several politicians including First citizen of India, Indian President Ramnath Kovind, PM Narendra Modi, Chief Ministers of several states and or personalities have extended ir wishes for Gandhi Jayanti. re were also several celebrities who tweeted tributes for Gandhiji. Netizens across India and world have also tweeted quotes and ims of Bapu on ir social media. With this, #GandhiJayanti, #Gandhiat150 and #MahatmaGandhi are among top trends on Twitter this morning.

UN Secretary-General and Russian Embassy tweets on Gandhi Jayanti

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was among many who paid his hom to Gandhi. Guterres in a tweet on October 2 wrote that Mahatma Gandhi pioneered successive n-violent movements that changed history. He furr said that Mahatma's philosophy is still at core of UN. Gandhi Jayanti also marks International Day of n-Violence. Guterres wrote that Gandhi's cour and conviction are an inspiration on today's date.

Embassy of Russia also tweeted on Gandhi Jayanti. Embassy wrote that Mahatma Gandhi always recognized great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy as a kindred spirit and mind in some regard. y added that two exchanged letters, discussed situation in world as both immensely cared about fate of underprivileged and oppressed.
