'To protect our caretakers': Producers Guild of India and others launch 'Mission Suraksha'
Producers Guild of India, Filmmakers for Frontline Care & non-profit organization Project Mumbai have collaborated for an initiative to protect our caretakers.

Indian film industry has come forward to lend a helping hand for COVID-19 warriors who have been risking ir lives to protect us from dely coronavirus infection. Earlier on Friday, an official statement was released by Producers Guild of India, along with a n-profit citizen engment program called Project Mumbai, and Filmmakers for Frontline Care declaring ir initiative called Mission Suraksha for those who protect us, especially women cops in Mumbai. Film critic and tre analyst Taran arsh took to his Twitter handle and shared details of Mission Suraksha.

Producers Guild of India (GUILD), on March 17, anunced that y have set up a relief fund for daily w earners impacted by shutdown of film, television and web productions amid coronavirus pandemic. In a statement shared on Twitter, Siddharth Roy Kapur, president of GUILD, urged members of film fraternity to contribute to fund to "minimize disruption in lives of our valued colleagues".

decision comes after many from film industry, including filmmakers Sudhir Mishra, Vikramitya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap, h raised concerns over impact of shutdown on daily w workers.

Various film bodies in India including Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE), Indian Film & Television Directors' Association (IFTDA) and GUILD has decided to put all productions on hold from March 19 to March 31 to help control spre of dely virus.
