‘Pure Fiction’: Russia Refutes Reports of Putin's Conversation With US President-Elect Trump

Kremlin has denied media reports of Putin's conversation with Donald Trump. Moscow said these reports are completely untrue.

Washington: US President-elect Donald Trump h a phone conversation with Russian President Vlimir Putin , during which y discussed a range of important topics, including efforts to end war in Ukraine, according to a media report. 

However, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov refuted media report claiming that Putin and Trump h a phone conversation.

Since winning recent presidential election, Trump has spoken with more than 70 world leers, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu , who were among first to make contact.

Trump Holds Conversation With Putin, Claims Media Report

" two men discussed goal of peace on European continent and Trump expressed an interest in follow-up conversations to discuss ' resolution of Ukraine’s war soon,” one of people said,” Washington Post said in an exclusive report published on Sunday.

One former US official who was familiar with Putin call said that Trump likely does t want to enter office with a fresh crisis in Ukraine prompted by Russian escalation, “giving him incentive to want to keep war from worsening,” daily said.

Trump is set to be inaugurated as 47th President of United States on January 20, 2025. Ukraine has been tified about phone call between Trump and Putin.

Russia Denies Reports of Conversation With Putin

“During call, which Trump took from his resort in Florida, he vised Russian president t to escalate war in Ukraine and reminded him of Washington’s sizable military presence in Europe, said a person familiar with call, who, like ors interviewed for this story, spoke on condition of anymity to discuss a sensitive matter,” Washington Post reported.

However, Kremlin spokesman Peskov in Moscow said Western media reports of phone call between Putin and Trump are "untrue", state-run TASS news ncy reported.

"re was conversation...This is completely untrue; it’s pure fiction," Peskov said.

Meanwhile, Steven Cheung, Trump's communications director, told PTI he would t comment on private calls between President-elect Trump and or world leers.

"President Trump won a historic election decisively and leers from around world kw America will return to prominence on world st. That is why leers have begun process of developing stronger relationships with 45th and 47th President because he represents global peace and stability," Cheung said.
