Raab hopes to boost UK-Japan ties during visit

Britain's Foreign Secretary said during his visit to Japan on Saturday that the UK hopes to work closely with Japan in future trade and investment following the UK's departure from the European Union.

Britain's Foreign Secretary said during his visit to Japan on Saturday that UK hopes to work closely with Japan in future tre and investment following UK's departure from European Union.

Dominic Raab met with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi in Tokyo and held discussions about working more closely toger as partners and global leers.

In a joint news conference with Raab, Motegi said Japan's relationship with UK is "important w more than ever."

This is Raab's first visit to Japan as British Foreign Secretary as well as his first overseas trip abro after UK left EU on 31 January.

As important contributors UK ecomy, Raab said he hoped to ensure certainty to both Japanese and UK businesses following Brexit and said nations would forge a new relationship.

Raab was in Australia prior to Japan and will next travel to Singapore and Malaysia.
