Rajinikanth greets fans outside his residence on Diwali

The megastar of Indian cinema Rajinikanth stepped outside his residence to greet and wish his fans on the auspicious day of Diwali on Sunday

Veteran actor Rajinikanth stepped outside his residence to greet and wish his fans on the auspicious day of Diwali on Sunday. Thousands of fans flooded the streets early morning just to catch a glimpse of 'Thailaiva' star. Dressed in a white shirt and dhoti, the actor-turned-politician wished the fans by waving at them. The '2.0' actor, while wishing on the auspicious occasion, said, "I extend my Diwali wishes to all."

Rajinikanth prays for 'safe return' of Sujith

Rajinikanth extended his wishes while praying for the "safe return" of the two-year-old Sujith,  who has been stuck in a borewell in Trichy from the last couple of days. He said, "I also pray wholeheartedly for the safe return of Sujith. Though various machines are trying to rescue him, precautionary measures should have been taken." He requested the government to take necessary measures for the safety of children and added, "There should be a precautionary measure on kids. Even parents also need to be alert. The government and officials are working well...we need to concentrate on all (development of technology) and improve."

Amitabh Bachchan greets fans

On the occasion of Diwali, Bollywood celebrities thronged the social media on Sunday while extending out Diwali wishes to their fans and followers across the world. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan wished everyone with monochrome throwback pictures with Jaya Bachchan and daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda lighting 'Phuljhadi'. "Diwali greetings to all .. peace prosperity and fulfilment," he said.

Veteran actor, Rishi Kapoor also wished the fans on a special day."Wishing you a very Happy Diwali", he wrote in Hindi.

The 'Leila' star Huma Qureshi also wished friends and fans Happy Diwali. "Happy Diwali doston !! Khoob Pyaar", she wrote. Manoj Bajpai also extended his wishes on Twitter. He wrote, "HAPPY DIWALI!!!!!" Sunny Deol also wished his fans and followers a Happy Diwali. "Wishing you and your family, a very Happy Diwali", Deol wrote.
