Rajinikanth leads team Petta's celebrations as film completes 50 days at the box office, his family joins in

Rajinikanth’s ‘Petta’ has completed 50 days of its release. The occasion called for a celebration and rightly the superstar and most of the names associated with the venture also gathered. The actor-politician cut a grand cake with stills from the movie on it to rousing applause by his team members. His family joined in the celebrations. Latha Rajinikanth, and his two sons-in-law were present.

At a time in cinema when a film going past the first couple of weeks at the box office is considered an achievement, Rajinikanth’s ‘Petta’ has completed 50 days of its release. The occasion called for a celebration and rightly the superstar and most of the names associated with the venture also gathered. The actor-politician cut a grand cake with stills from the movie on it to rousing applause by his team members.

Director Kartik Subbaraj, music director Anirudh Ravichander and production house Sun Pictures’ Kalanithi Maran were among those who were all smiles at the event. The actor even shared a piece of cake with all of them.

Rajinikanth’s wife Latha Rajinikanth, and his two sons-in-law Dhanush and Vishagan Vanangamudi, also joined in the celebrations. One of the actresses Megha Akash too was delighted at the event.

'Petta', which had hit the theatres on January 11 around Pongal, reportedly earned over Rs 200 crore at the box office around the world. The masala entertainer was pitted against Ajith's 'Viswasam', but both the films managed to do well. 'Petta' also stars Simran, Trisha Krishnan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vijay Sethupathi, among others. The film reminded fans of the Rajini of the yore as it featured action, comedy, dance and drama in good proportions.
