No-Shave November is an initiative to focus on men's health as it aims to create awareness about the scourge afflicting men in the form of testicular, prostate, and colon cancers. However, in a new campaign, a razor brand Billie opens up the same conversation for women too. The brand is trying to change the whole conversation about body hair by encouraging women to become part of a 'Movember'. The advertisement which has now gone viral shows women with real hair and encouraging other women to grow moustaches on their faces.
The advertisement on YouTube reads, “Newsflash: women have mustaches. We've been trained to hide them – wax them, bleach them, shave them – but that doesn't make them any less real. Fuzzy and faint or dark and dazzling, they're there. So this Movember, we're growing out our (formerly) top-secret upper lip hair.”

In the video, the models can be seen throwing away wax strips and tweezers. The models with real body har can be seen celebrating their facial hair by putting mascara on it, combing it or putting bright lipsticks to highlight their moustaches. Billie has reportedly become the first women's razor brand to participate in Movember, however, this is not the first time the brand has done something like this. In an earlier campaign, Billie had also started a conversation about pubic and armpit hair with models with real body hair.

#NoShaveNovember
The birth of this endeavour around the millennial year, now a movement, is credited to both the No-Shave November Foundation and Movember Foundation. The former has its roots in the USA while the latter is in Australia. Though hemispheres apart, both espouse a common mission for supporting initiatives in cancer research, awareness, and prevention of cancer in general and in men in particular. In the past decade, through their concerted, collaborative efforts, No-Shave November has yielded millions of dollars for the cause, and, above all, has transformed it into a global movement to show that we all care.

It is a very simple idea. Men need to forgo shaving during the no-shave month-long campaign in November and influence others to take note and join. The idea is to donate whatever is saved by not using the shaving gear or visiting salons for grooming and lend support to cancer research, prevention, and education. By not using your shaving gear, your participation is visible.
