Restrictions see Sydney Harbour empty on NYE

Sydney New Year's revellers have been put on tice, with Premier of New South Wales, Glys Berejiklian, asking people to stay at home.

Ten new coronavirus cases in state, on top of 18 cases reported on Wednesday, have led to tougher restrictions, with only five people allowed to visit a home in greater Sydney.

one is allowed to watch fireworks from Sydney Harbour foreshore and outdoor garings have been reduced from 50 to 30.

It comes as coronavirus cases have spre beyond Sydney's rrn beaches, including a few more in so-called Croydon family cluster while re are a few individual cases in or parts of greater Sydney.
