Russia FM Commissioner for Human Rights says West should take responsibility for refugees

The Russian Foreign Ministry's Commissioner for Human Rights, Grigory Lukyantsev stated that the humanitarian situation in border remains dire.

Russian Foreign Ministry's Commissioner for Human Rights Grigory Lukyantsev stated that  humanitarian situation in Middle East and rth Africa remained dire and by accepting refugees, West should accept responsibility. He stated that y should t lose sight of migrant issue, which has resulted in this humanitarian situation. He furr stated that fundamental reason for all of this is West interfering in Middle East and rth Africa, instability of political situation, political regime, meddling in internal matters, and regional destabilization.

As per reports of Sputnik, Russian diplomat claimed that migration had emerged as people want to reach countries that contributed to destabilisation of situation in ir own country. He n asked countries who created this situation to share 'burden,' and be responsible for resolving this problem.

Poland breaking human rights accords

envoy went on to accuse Poland of breaking human rights accords, bringing to attention to complaints lodged against Warsaw, Lithuania, and Latvia for t allowing refugees in ir countries, according to Sputnik. He stated that Polish law enforcement ncies and Polish military forces are harsh against refugees which have led to deprivation and that Poland is violating provisions of international treaties.

He also blamed lack of discussion between European Union and Belarus for deteriorating refugee crisis stating that resolving problem without direct contact is impossible, according to Sputnik. He emphasised that because of absence of communication, it is difficult to forecast how situation would develop. When migrants from Middle East and rth Africa began arriving in Belarus this summer in an attempt to enter European Union via Belarus-Poland border, tension between, West and Misk intensified.

West and Minsk tensions

West and Minsk tensions heightened when Poland stopped refugees from entering by erecting barbed wire and Polish Border Guard used tear gas on m, according to Sputnik. Since beginning of crisis, more than a dozen migrants have died at border, and thousands more are stranded in temporary camps. Belarus has been accused by officials from Poland and European Union of deliberately allowing migrants in ir country who want to cross border and enter EU countries.
