Russia: Over 800,000 people vaccinated with Sputnik V against COVID-19 virus
Russia’s Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, on Saturday, January 2 said that more than 800,000 people in Russia have been vaccinated against COVID-19 virus.

Russia’s Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, on Saturday, said that more than 800,000 people in Russia have been vaccinated against vel coronavirus, reported Turkish News ncy Anolu ncy. He furr said that mass vaccination campaign continues in country. Russia started with vaccinating people over of 60, and as of w, more than 1.5 million vaccines have been delivered to various parts of country.
Earlier, Russian President Vlimir Putin h said that Sputnik V has at least 95 percent efficacy, ding that Russia has given world good, safe, and efficient vaccine products. Russian President thanked Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) for producing vaccine against vel coronavirus. Russian leer cited health experts, saying that shot hits 96-97 percent efficacy in one dose as it is ministered into patient’s body. According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, Putin will receive Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine soon.

Putin to get vaccinated soon
Putin h given a green light to Sputnik V vaccine back in August, making it first vaccine in world to get government approval. While approving vaccine, Putin h claimed that even his daughter received a trial shot of vaccine, which experts said was probably to build confidence regarding safety of drug. Many questions were raised by international community regarding safety of Sputnik V due to lack of trial data provided by Russia.

Belarus approves Sputnik
After Russia, Belarus is first country to approve Sputnik V jabs and registered vaccine on December 21. In a statement on its official website, Sputnik V wrote that first doses of vaccine arrived in Belarus as erstwhile Soviet republic began its mass iculation drive against coronavirus. website also revealed that Russia Sovereign Wealth Fund (RDIF) has signed Belarusian pharmaceutical brand Belpharmprom to establish local production of Sputnik V in Belarus.
