Russia records 6,632 new coronavirus cases, death toll surpasses 10,000
Critics accused Russia of downplaying scale of impact of coronavirus as fatalities in third worst-hit country with under-resourced healthcare lower than Europe.

On July 3, Russia reported 6,632 new cases of vel coronavirus surging overall nationwide tally of infections to 674,515. With 168 lives claimed by COVID-19 disease so far, death toll in country stood at 10,027, according to global tally. However, critics accused Russia of downplaying scale of impact of coronavirus as fatalities in third worst-hit country with under-resourced healthcare system were registered lower than that of European nations and US.
With a rapid surge of disease nationwide, Russia initiated clinical trials of a vaccine to combat looming health crisis as early as last month. Country's health ministry said in a statement that at least two forms of vaccine developed by Moscow-based Gamaleya research institute — liquid and powder for injections — commenced its trials on two separate groups of volunteers that contained 38 people each. Meanwhile, government in Russia reopened cafes and restaurants, museums and zoos, and most outdoor premises to public despite tremendous rise in infections, according to reports.

Moscow’s Mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, was quoted saying at press conference that Russian ministration was suspending confinement measures and lockdown, which was imposed in March, in order to revive ecomy. In furr anuncements, Russia allowed dental clinics to resume providing n-urgent treatment. ditionally, kindergartens, gyms, and indoor s of cafes, and restaurants were also asked to start operations on June 24. In a state televised dress, Russian President Vlimir Putin said that Russia was “emerging” out of coronavirus pandemic.

Russia 'getting out of COVID-19 situation'
Furr, launching an attack on US, Putin was reported saying that United States was struggling with pandemic because it h a “fragmented government system”. Speaking to state brocasters, Putin said, “We are working quite steily and getting out of this situation with coronavirus confidently, with minimal losses. In US, this is t happening.” Furr, he ded, "I doubt that someone somewhere in government or in regions suddenly said, we will t do what government says or president says. We consider this inappropriate.”
