Biden extends national emergency in US over Russia's 'malicious' foreign policy activities
The United States extended the national emergency imposed in the country in connection with the malicious activities of the Russian government on Wednesday.

In a key development, United States extended national emergency imposed in country in connection with malicious activities of Russian government, a notification from White House informed on Wednesday. malicious activities were listed in particular, efforts to undermine conduct of free and fair democratic elections and democratic institutions in United States and its allies and partners.
Also, to engage in and facilitate malicious cyber-enabled activities against United States and its allies and partners, foster and use transnational corruption to influence foreign governments; to pursue extraterritorial activities targeting dissidents or journalists, and violate well-established principles of international law, including respect for territorial integrity of states.

Keeping in view listed activities of Government of Russian Federation, a national emergency was declared pursuant to International Emergency Economic Powers Act (50 U.S.C. 1701-1706) in April 2021. said national emergency was to automatically get terminated unless, within 90 days prior to anniversary date of declaration, President would not have published in Federal Register and transmitted to Congress a notice stating that emergency is to continue.
National emergency in US to continue
"In accordance with this provision, I have sent to Federal Register for publication enclosed notice stating that national emergency with respect to specified harmful foreign activities of Government of Russian Federation declared in Executive Order 14024 of April 15, 2021, which was expanded in scope in Executive Order 140666 of March 8, 2022, and with respect to which ditional steps were taken in Executive Order 14039 of August 20, 2021, Executive ORder 14068 of March 11, 2022, and Executive Order 14071 of April 6, 2022, is to continue in effect beyond April 15, 2022," Us President Joe Biden said, in a letter to Speaker of House of Representatives, and President of Senate.
