China postpones its evacuation plan from Ukraine citing 'high-security risk' in war zone

As he announced that China will delay evacuation efforts, Xianrong appealed to the Chinese nationals to take “safety precautions” in a period of high security.

Beijing’s top envoy in Ukraine on Tuesday said that it has halted its plans for evacuation of its citizens from Ukraine as country battled fierce Russian assault into sixth day. Chinese ambassor Fan Xianrong said in a post on embassy's official WeChat account that conditions in Ukraine “were too unsafe” to evacuate Chinese citizens. He n sought to dispel widespre rumours that he h fled Kyiv leaving behind Chinese nationals stranded in war. 

As he anunced that China will delay evacuation efforts, Xianrong appealed to Chinese nationals to take “safety precautions” in “a period of high-security risks”. He did t make any statement regarding when China would begin an evacuation plan as its citizens panicked, without any government, inside conflict-prone sensitive areas. "We must wait until it is safe before leaving," Chinese ambassor Fan Xianrong said in a video, shot in his office as he appeared seated in front of Chinese flag.

Citizens of United States, China, United Kingdom, Germany, and several or nations have been denied any assistance on behalf of federal governments. Indian authorities meanwhile kick-started a ‘challenging’ evacuation program kwn as Operation Ganga to bring stranded Indian students back from Ukraine, safely. As Chinese ambassor Fan Xianrong cited risks about weapons attack from Russian side, ding that Ukraine’s closed air will bring challenges in flying out civilian flights, he inste asked Chinese citizens to "t quarrel with locals.”

Furr, he launched warnings against Chinese nationals and asked t to show misconduct as it could result in hostility towards Chinese citizens from Ukrainians. " Ukrainian people are in a difficult position and are suffering very much," he said. “We must understand ir feelings and t provoke m."

"As long as safety conditions are met and everyone's safety is guaranteed, we will make appropriate arrangements,” Chinese ambassor furr said in his mess, according to his statement’s transcripts. China, a close ally to Russia, has mainly refrained from condemning Russia throughout crisis. Xianrong asked Chinese citizens to wait until Thursday for anuncement of plans to send charter flights to evacuate its citizens. 

In 10-minute video mess, ambassor Fan Xianrong warned of grave security threats for Chinese in Ukraine, ding that evacuation plans might t go ahe due to growing safety issues. Chinese embassy also asked its citizens to "refrain from displaying signs of identification” after foot emerged of Chinese nationals trying to flee Kyiv with a Chinese flag tied to ir vehicles.
