Russian officials denied striking civil infrastructure in Ukraine on Wednesday, blaming Kyiv's authorities.

Asked to comment on Wednesday's strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and the hardships they inflict on the country's civilian population, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov argued on Thursday that it's up to Ukrainian authorities to "end all possible suffering of the civilian population."

"Ukraine's leadership has every opportunity to bring the situation back to normal, has every opportunity to resolve the situation in such a way as to meet the demands of the Russian side," Peskov said during a conference call with reporters.

He didn't clarify what Moscow's exact demands are at this point.

Peskov also reiterated that Russia won't supply oil and gas to countries which will introduce and join the cap on Russian oil, but added that the Kremlin will have to first analyze the cap before making any decision.
