North Korea's Kim Jong Un lauds Putin for 'success' in Ukraine war on Russia Day

As the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war crossed the 100 days mark, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un sent a special message to Russian President Putin on Russia Day.

As ongoing Russia-Ukraine war crossed 100 days mark, rth Korean leer Kim Jong Un sent a special mess to Russian President Vlimir Putin on occasion of Russia Day. Applauding "special military operation" initiated by Putin, he said, "Russian people have achieved great successes in accomplishing ir goal". According to a report by state-run Korean Central News ncy (KCNA), rth Korean leer extended warm congratulations to "people-friendly government" and citizens of Russian Federation on its national day.

"I express conviction that DPRK-Russia relations of friendship and cooperation, which have greeted a new rical turn of ir development after our first meeting in Vlivostok in April 2019, would continue to strengn with vigour in all fields and strategic and tactical cooperation between two countries would get closer in journey for defending international justice and ensuring global security," it ded.

Meanwhile, Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics wished Moscow "defeat" in war in Ukraine in his mess to Kremlin on Russia Day. In his rar mocking greeting, he urged Russia to give up its "imperial ambitions" and embrace modern society. "Russia is marking its National, I wish defeat in aggressive war against #Ukraine, abandoning imperial ambitions and ultimately creation of modern and democratic country #Russiay2022 (sic)," he tweeted.

However, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy h said that Ukraine will t become a member of NATO alliance. Earlier last week, Moscow's upper parliament house speaker said Russia is rey to hold negotiations with Kyiv to restore peace in region. However, same has t been echoed by Russian government yet.
