Russia-Ukraine war: Anonymous declares ‘cyber war’ against Russia, targets govt websites
According to reports, RT.com and several other sites have been targeted in what appears to be a widespread denial-of-service (DDoS) attack by Anonymous.

Amid ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, cyber hacker collective ‘Anymous’ has w declared a “cyber war” against Russina President Vlimir Putin's government as he launched full-scale invasion of Kyiv. According to international reports, hacker collective aim is to have disabled several Russian government websites. Meanwhile, collective also targeted RT.com, a Russian state-controlled international television network.
According to reports, RT.com and several or sites have been targeted in what appears to be a widespre denial-of-service (DDoS) attack. Hacker collective ‘Anymous’, infamous for hacking international government accounts, on Thursday declared a “cyberwar” against Russia following its attack on Ukraine. collective revealed ir move on social media, claiming to have disabled several Russian government websites.

Social media account claiming to represent group on Thursday wrote, “ Anymous collective is officially in cyber war against Russian government.” Furrmore, it tweeted, “ #Anymous collective has taken down website of #Russian propaganda station RT News,” confirming ir attack on RT.com.
Anymous targets Russian government's websites
Meanwhile, websites of Russian government, Kremlin, Duma, Ministry of Defence were all affected by ‘cyberattack’ launched by hacker collective. Several users came forward on social media platforms to inform that websites targeted by group slowed down and went offline for extended periods of time throughout day. group, in a series of tweets, me it clear that it was opposing Putin and his recent moves against Ukraine.

We will t forget lives that have been lost under Putin's regime,” an account related to collective tweeted. “ Putin criminal regime are gonna have a very hard time recovering from our attacks!” it wrote from ar account. ‘Anymous’ also ded that “an inevitability that private sector will most likely be affected too,” in attacks.
“So, while people around globe smash your internet providers to bits, understand that it's entirely directed at actions of Russian government and Putin,” an account linked to hacker collective said in a mess to Russians. Hackers affiliated with Anymous have attacked websites of US government, Central Intelligence ncy (CIA), Westboro Baptist Church, ISIS, among many ors in past. group is w targeting Russia in support of Ukraine.

Russia's cyberattack on Kyiv
Earlier on Thursday, Ukraine h reported that country’s cybersecurity service reported continued cyberattacks from Russia. Kyiv informed that its cellular networks were saturated with voice calls. Furrmore, Ukraine suggested its people use text messaging.
