Amid Russia Ukraine war, Cuba has lambasted the United States on Wednesday for extending NATO towards Russia's borders, urging for a diplomatic approach.

Amid Moscow-Kyiv unrest, Cuba has lambasted United States on Wednesday for extending North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) towards Russia's borders, furr urging for a diplomatic approach to maintain world peace. In a statement, Cuban Foreign Ministry stated, “ determination of United States to impose progressive expansion of NATO towards borders of Russian Federation constitutes a threat to national security of this country and regional and international peace," Anolu agency reported.
statement came after Russian President Vlimir Putin declared two Ukraine's breakaway regions, Donetsk and Luhansk, as independent states and ordered soldiers to be deployed to protect peace. As a result of Putin's actions, United States has begun applying economic penalties aimed at limiting Moscow's access to Western funds.
