Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince dials Vladimir Putin to talk about Ukraine, Yemen & OPEC+

In midst of Russian invasion of Ukraine, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman dialed Russian President Vlimir Putin where two leers not only discussed situation in Ukraine but also talked about crisis in Yemen. Kremlin suggests that two leers also talked about  Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC+) deal on oil reduction. Kremlin announced that y shared views on a number of foreign issues, including situation in Ukraine and Yemen.

Putin and bin Salman also discussed topics related to bilateral ties. y expressed ir shared desire to see Russia and Saudi Arabia build mutually beneficial partnerships in future. Kremlin's statement furr said y offered a favourable appraisal to collective cooperation within OPEC+ with goal of guaranteeing global oil market stability.

Talking about Ukraine crisis, bin Salman stated that Kingdom supports initiatives that will le to a political solution to crisis in Ukraine and achieve security and stability.

On or hand, OPEC lowered its forecast for growth for world oil demand growth in 2022 on April 12, citing impact of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, growing inflation, and recurrence of omicron variant of coronavirus strain in China as reasons, according to Alarabia News. Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February, oil prices soared to $139 a barrel, highest level since 2008.

In meanwhile, Bin Salman also h a conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday where y discussed Ukraine. China's state media reported that Beijing is seeking "high-level" collaboration with Saudi Arabia in energy, tre, and high technology. Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that China prioritizes development of its relations with Saudi Arabia and is rey to collaborate with kingdom to continue deepening ir comprehensive strategic cooperation and deliver greater vantages to people of two countries, according to CGTN.
