Saudi-led coalition warplane downed by Houthi rebels in Yemen: Report

Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed that they have shot down a  Saudi led coalition warplane belonging to the Saudi-led military coalition in the northern province.

Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed that y have shot down a  Saudi led coalition warplane belonging to Saudi-led military coalition in rrn province of al-Jawf, according to reports on February 15. Torno aircraft was downed with surface to air missile in al-Masloub district, according to media outlet citing a statement by Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saream, without providing any furr details. According to reports, fighter jet was part of an operation to support Yemeni government forces, coalition said in a statement carried by official of state media.

Saudi-led military coalition involved in Yemen's conflict in 2015 to support government that h been forced out by Houthi rebels. Earlier, Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Iran-backed rebels are held indirect, behind--scenes talks to end impoverished Arab country’s devastating five-year war. Officials from both sides have told media that negotiations are taking place with Oman, which borders both Yemen and Saudi Arabia, as mediator. Saudi-led military coalition, which entered war in 2015, is fighting on behalf of Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hi and his internationally recognized government.

Yemen to become  poorest country in world: UN

United Nations said in an official report that if ongoing civil war in Yemen continues till 2022 n it would become poorest country in world. percent of poverty in year 2014 was 47 per cent, and it is expected to reach 75 per cent by end of this year due to war.

United Nations Development Program published a report on September 26 which discussed current scenario of Yemen. report quoted UNDP ministrator, Achim Steiner who said that war has me Yemen 'largest humanitarian crisis in world'. Yemen is currently among poorest countries in Middle-Eastern region and its condition deteriorated even more after Saudi-led intervention in 2015.
