Artificial intelligence can be trained to identify individual birds as opposed to human brains, which cant perform task, a study demonstrated. study published in journal Methods in Ecology and Evolution shows that artificial intelligence can be trained to identify birds individually if thousands of labeled ims of birds are fed to computer. According to reports, after training of AI with ims of individual birds, computer displayed an impressive accuracy when showed new ims of animals y h t seen before.

Facebook-like AI
As per reports, AI was trained with ims of a wild population of great tits and captive populations of zebra finches. study says that AI showed an accuracy of 90 percent when showed new ims of great tits and 87 percent when showed new ims of zebra finches. company said that AI operates in a similar fashion as Facebook's artificial intelligence does when it uses million of pictures of humans to identify m individually. However, study also mentioned that unlike Facebook where users mselves provide ir ims, acquiring labeled pictures of animals is very difficult and has proven to be a roblock in research.

Researchers, however, are overcoming this challenge by installing camera traps and sensors to acquire ims of individual birds. techlogy can help in studying of wild animals reliably and can help researchers identify m individually as humans are unable to perform this task. Currently, animals are identified through microchips or tags that are implanted or attached to m by humans.
