scientists of Cremona’s Avantea Laboratories, Italy anunced on September 12 that y were able to create two embryos of rrn white rhi. effort is part of international initiative to save species of white rhis which is at verge of extinction. Only two female white rhis are left in entire world, which makes it even more serious concern with clock ticking. Thomas Hildebrandt of Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research in Germany in his statement to international media said that it is an important milestone that has been achieved on a ro full of obstacles. He furr ded that this will help us in planning a better future and conservation strategies to rescue rrn white rhi.
Fertilization of eggs
scientists created embryos using eggs from female rhis and fertilized m with sperm of de male rhi. embryos are w stored in liquid nitrogen which will be transferred to sourn white rhi for furr development. sourn white female rhi will perform as surrogate mor in coming future. Hence, scientists see hope to keep rrn white rhi species alive. This experiment is a result of years of hard work by institute. institute is part of an international project which consists of scientists and conservationists across world who have been working on similar developments.

Extinction of animal species
extinction of animal species is a serious concern. Every extinction affects balance in food chain. aim of scientists is to reproduce at least five animals. se five rhis can n return to ir niche and continue to increase in number. process may take deces. rhis are killed for tre of horns. se horns are used for ir medicinal properties which catalyze healing process tritionally used in China, and also used as a carving material.

Embryos to prevent extinction
process of creation of embryos is seen as an achievement. It was performed at Cremona’s Avantea Laboratories. Cesare Galli and his team performed experiment after extraction of five ova each from mor rhis. mors Najin and Fatu, are female rhis who are protected in Kenya. During process, eggs were incubated. Out of ten cells, seven of m matured, se were suitable for fertilization. But only two of m develop into embryos. Jan Stejskal, director of communication at Dvur Králové Zoo in Czech Republic said to media that, “Five years ago it seemed like production of a rrn white rhi embryo was an almost unachievable goal and today we have m”. This achievement has me entire team optimistic about future developments.
