On September 11, Labour Party President of New Zealand, Nigel Haworth, resigned after a 19-year-old member of Labour Party said that she was sexually assaulted by a staffer in Parliament house last year. She alleged that even after informing Haworth and investigating panel about sexual assault and various claims against man, authority failed to act and let man escape all separate complaints against him. 

New Zealand PM apologises 

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern apologised on behalf of her party. She accepted that her party h me mistakes while handling investigation.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said, “I do want to offer an apology on behalf of Labour Party to those complaints in this case who have gone through a process that I believe has caused m harm”.

She furr ded that a lawyer will soon be reviewing case and would furr investigate wher Haworth and ors were aware about assault claims. However, she also said that she would t rush into any decisions on party President's future until a final report is delivered.

PM Ardern also claimed that she was unaware of nature of allegations. According to her, she was reportedly informed that allegations me were t sexual in nature. PM Ardern is personally looking into case and will be ensuring that all complaints are receiving appropriate support. A Barrister, Maria Dew, is also appointed to review Labour Party's handling of case and will be reporting directly to Prime Minister next month.
