Singapore reports 799 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours, total reaches 14,423
As many as 52 clusters linked to the foreign dormitories in Singapore have emerged so far, the S11 Dormitory accounting for the highest number of cases.

Over 799 new cases of vel coronavirus have been detected in Singapore as of April 27 in past 24 hours, thus bringing total confirmed cases to 14,423, Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed in a statement. Singapore has become country with highest toll from COVID-19 in Souast Asia after cluster outbreak was detected at overseas workers' dorms, confirmed media reports.
As per ministry, vast majority of cases in Singapore constitutes work permit holders, and as many as 52 clusters linked to foreign dormitories have emerged so far. S11 Dormitory, Sungei Tengah Lodge, and Tuas View Dormitory account for highest number of cases out of 25 dorms where over 300,000 overseas workers reside.

“Circuit breaker” measures continue
Earlier, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong h warned that more people could test positive at packed dormitories.
