The Sri Lanka Administrative Service Association (SASA), on Thursday, proposed four suggestions to Sri Lankan authorities in order to reach a solution within the constitutional framework.
In a statement released on Thursday, it said:
- Public representatives should listen to the majority of public opinion
- The protestors should hand over the public property that captured in the last five days
- No space should be allowed to make it a platform to achieve narrow personal objectives.

Maldives says Rajapaksa granted permission to land after receiving request from Sri Lankan govt

Additional fuel shipments to arrive on 17 July to alleviate crisis, says CPC

Bar association calls for protesting crowds to vacate PM's residential premises
The Sri Lankan Bar Association has published a statement in response to the country's political crisis and requested responsible behaviour from all parties. The Prime Minister's Office at Flower Road has been occupied by protesting masses, which has caused great concern among the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL), according to a statement released.
Further, BASL urged the protesters to hand over the aforementioned property to the law enforcement officials right away. Azath Salley, former Governor of Sri Lanka's Western Province, spoke exclusively to Republic Media Network and urged the nation to come together and bring the country to a stable situation. He also accused the opposition of playing games at a time when Sri Lanka is experiencing economic turmoil.
He said, "This is not the time for the opposition to play games, this is the time for all politicians, all citizens and everybody to get together to build Sri Lanka and to bring the country to a stable situation. Because if the parliament has announced that it will elect a president on the 20th. So, today till the 20th (July) you need a cabinet of ministers sitting and deciding on things, now we don’t have fuel, we don’t have gas, we don’t have medicines. So, if the opposition is trying to play politics, I don't think we will succeed in anything."

Rajapaksa to resign within the day, new Prez to be elected on July 20: Speaker
