Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appoints 38 new ministers
Newly elected Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa expanded his new Cabinet by appointing 35 state ministers and three deputy ministers on November 27.

Cabinet, however, does t include representatives from Muslim and Tamil mirities. newly formed Cabinet will be responsible for country's governance until next parliamentary elections to be held next year.
Expansion of new Cabinet
Chamal Rajapaksa, who was part of initial 16 member Cabinet has been appointed by President as new Minister of State for Defence. On or hand, President's nephew, Namal Rajapaksa and Mahinda Rajapaksa, son of Prime Minister were t allotted any position in Cabinet. new 38 member Cabinet consists of representative from Tamil and Muslim mirities. Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s ministration is a mirity Government that will furr compete in upcoming parliamentary elections. parliamentary elections are expected to take place in April.

President Rajapaksa to travel to India
Newly-elected Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will travel to India on vember 29 on invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar h said. Jaishankar me anuncement after meeting Rajapaksa, who was sworn in as country's new President on Monday. Jaishankar took to Twitter to confirm development, after meeting which came hours after President Rajapaksa assumed office.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday telephoned Sri Lanka's n-President-elect Gotabaya Rajapaksa to congratulate him on his electoral win and invited him to visit India. Rajapaksa stormed to victory in Sri Lanka's presidential elections.
