Student misinterprets assignment on 'The Great Gatsby', writes an essay on Tom & Jerry

A student, who was assigned an essay on classic novel 'The Great Gatsby', grabbed the wrong end of the stick & wrote essay on the cartoon Tom & Jerry instead.

Netizens are left in stitches after a college student, who was assigned an essay on F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic vel Great Gatsby, grabbed wrong end of stick and wrote an essay on cartoon Tom & Jerry inste. New York-based Professor Alexis Pereira took to Twitter and shared a photo of essay, which h thing to do with assigned subject. He captioned picture with 'Teaching my first English course this semester has been rewarding but I don’t kw what to do with this student.'

Hilarious mistake

Alexis h given his students an assignment on Tom Buchanan from seminal 1925 vel Great Gatsby, but his student mistook him as  cat named Tom from  cartoon show Tom & Jerry and wrote an essay on same. From what is discernible from picture, assignment is titled 'What Exactly Does Tom Want with Jerry?' and answer discusses famous Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters. essay is littered with red antations from teacher, and student was awarded a 'D' gre.

t to mention, photo of essay has gone viral. At time of writing original post h over 700K likes and over 120K retweets. While im h left Twitter in splits, some opined that work did t warrant such a low gre.
