The summit is being held during the school vacations which lasts from around July 20 to the end of August. This is the peak season to visit Mt. Fiji as climbers literally have to wait in queues and get stranded in between their passage. Mt. Fuji is Japan's highest and prominent mountain range with a maximum height of 3776 meters. The buses from Tokyo's Shinjuku district are available to drop the climbers off at a station from where the actual trek begins which is located at an altitude of 2300 meters from the sea level which acts as the main point of the majestic mountain. This is the main point from where the people begin their long-awaited journey.

About the journey
The Yoshida trail is the most convenient and popular among the routes to reach the top of the mountain which is picked by most of the trekkers. The climbers wear headlamps and carry heavy packs spaced feet apart to ensure safety on the rugged and rocky terrain. It takes around five to six hours for an average hiker to reach the summit. Most of the hikers spend the nights at the makeshift camps and tents. The hikers reveal that it's a very good moment to accommodate others.

To get a glimpse of sunrise from the summit of the nation's most iconic mountain is a challenging task. Watching the orange sky atop the mountain is mesmerizing and a matter of sheer luck. The climbing season generally runs from early July to early September. Mount Fuji will open to the general public a couple of weeks before the Tokyo Summer Olympics opening ceremony on July 24. While descending, do not forget to visit the picturesque Lake Kawaguchi which allows visitors to take beautiful pictures of Mount Fuji from afar.
