A surfer had a close encounter with a shark in the waters of Cape Cod for his morning surf but did not realize that it was a peak season for shark activity.

A surfer h a close encounter with a shark in waters of Cape Cod on morning of September 20. surfer, Devon Zimmerman was a regular surfer but he did t realize that it is a peak season for white shark activity. Zimmerman initially heard some splashing of water but turned around to see a shark just 10 feet away from him. He reportedly later described his first thought was of 'pure shock'. picture was ed by photographer of Orleans Beaches and was posted on ir official p, same day as a “reminder” to all beachgoers.

As reported by local media, Devon Zimmerman is a resident of Brooklyn who pdled on his surfboard at Nauset Beach for few minutes when he initially heard faint rustling only turning to see he of great white shark popping out of water. It came as a shock for Zimmerman who evidently n realized that thing is real while mentioning shark. He also told local media that it was real and in between him and beach. Fortunately, he escaped situation by lifting his feet out of water and patiently waiting on his surfboard while shark quitely swam away. Immediately after incident, he returned to beach. Zimmerman also called entire incident as “intense”.

One of Twitter users called Zimmerman “brave, while some of m referred to him as a “careless surfer” who avoided all warning signs of increased shark activity. internet users also commented on position of surfer, someone even said that Zimmerman's position of staying still is t because he is calm, but because he is “frozen with fear”.
