A surgeon in Shanghai successfully performed a lung tumor removal operation remotely, with the patient located 5,000 kilometers away in Kashgar. The procedure, completed within an hour, marks a significant advancement in telemedicine and robotic surgery.

Dr. Li Wei, a renowned thoracic surgeon based at Shanghai's Huashan Hospital, operated the robotic surgical system from his office using advanced telecommunication technology.
