Responding to a question on escalated tensions in region following a US airstrike earlier this month in Iraq that killed top Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, Abbas said, "I will tell you this openly: Where re is America, re is trouble. Who invited America to come to Middle East to fight se countries? y ( US) are following ir interests. y are t coming for welfare of people. y came to hold natural resources of those countries. Our country (Syria) and Iran refused and that is why y faced se big problems in Middle East. Iran has w become a superpower in region and y will defeat America."
