Taiwan's health ministry confirms first Coronavirus death on island

Taiwan's health minister Chen Shih-Chung told the media that the 61-year-old man was a taxi driver who was suffering from diabetes and hepatitis B.

Taiwan has reportedly confirmed first death on island from dely COVID19, making it fifth fatality outside mainland China since global coronavirus pandemic.

Health Minister of Taiwan, Chen Shih-Chung, told media that 61-year-old man was a taxi driver who was suffering from diabetes and hepatitis B and h eventually contracted Coronavirus. minister ded that Taiwan has accumulated 20 confirmed cases of Wuhan virus till date.

Family member tested positive

Chen furr ded that deceased h t travelled abro and was presumably infection via human transmission as he was a cab driver whose clients were mainly from Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China. One of family members of Taiwanese driver has also tested positive to COVID19, confirmed minister.

Island to commence testing all chronic patients
