Tanzania MP asked to 'dress up well' and ordered to leave Parliament due to ‘tight' pants
Female minister Condester Sichwale in Tanzania was ejected after male colleague Hussein Amar complained about her "too tight" trousers.

A female MP in Tanzania was recently kicked out of country’s parliament for wearing trousers deemed “too tight”. According to BBC, Condester Sichwale, a minister for ruling CCM party, was ejected after male colleague Hussein Amar, who is a member of same party, complained. Sichwale was told to “go dress up well, and n join us back later” before she walked out of parliament.
incident took place on Tuesday following a debate in Parliament House in Tanzania’s capital of Dodoma. After session, Amar reportedly stood up to ask Speaker Job Ndugai for guidance on “modest” dress”. He h dressed Sichwale as his “sister seated with a yellow shirt” and said that way some women dressed invited ridicule to parliament. Amar asked speaker to “look at” trousers she h worn.

Ndugai n ordered Sichwale to leave and said, “go dress up well, and n join us back later”. He ded that this was not first complaint he h received about female Member of Parliaments’ attire. He even told chamber orderlies to deny entry to anyone who was inappropriately dressed.
As per reports, Amar did not elaborate on what he found wrong with Sichwale’s outfit. However, he quoted parliamentary rules which allow women to wear trousers but stipulates that clos should “not be tight-fitting”. He even accused Sichwale of wearing even though she was wearing transition lenses that change depending on light conditions.

Following incident, a group of MPs led by Jacqueline Ngonyani and Stella Manyanya n branded move as “unfair” and said that re was nothing wrong with outfit. move also led attracted criticism online, with users accusing Male MPs of “policing women’s bodies”. “I am annoyed with this. Like, really? I hate it when women's clos, bodies and decisions are policed by men. And those pants ain't tight!! Uugh. Such a misogynistic power trip by speaker,” said one Twitter user.
