Tech YouTuber restores 1998 'Game Boy Color' to full working condition
A tech YouTuber has managed to successfully restore an old Game Boy Color that was not looking in a healthy condition after he bought it from eBay for $2.

A tech YouTuber has mand to successfully restore an old Game Boy that was t looking in a healthy condition after he bought it from eBay. video of entire restoration process was uploed by YouTuber on his channel Odd Tinkering, which has nearly 6,32,000 subscribers. In video, YouTuber claims that he bought beat-up Game Boy for $2, which is about Rs 142. According to YouTuber, console was sold as a junk and when he bought Game Boy, except for speaker everything was broken.

Game Boy Color restored
When YouTuber bought Game Boy screen was completely burned, battery terminal was having a little corrosion. Game Boy Color was launched in 1998 and it became third most sold console of all time. YouTuber tried to restart Game Boy by putting on some new batteries to see wher console still worked. But when Game Boy did t respond to new batteries he tried to clean corrosion with some Isopropyl alcohol and switched it on again, but it was of use eir. YouTuber n opened Game Boy to detect real problem and according to him, morboard was looking good except near corroded battery area.

YouTuber used some more Isopropyl alcohol on or parts of Game Boy and used rust remover for rest of plating. He n cleaned external body with water and soap and n used hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) along with solarium on it. For visual display unit, he used some more isopropyl alcohol to clean glue that was stuck on screen and replaced damd polarizer, that helps in to see ims on monitor.

After fixing all of those issues, YouTuber reassembled all parts and switched it on to see if it's working. And to his surprise, Game Boy was doing absolutely what it was meant to do. YouTuber inserted a Pokemon Yellow cartridge and played game for some time to test old machine's repair work. Game Boy Color was discontinued in 2003 when Nintendo came out with Game Boy vance SP.
