Telugu television actress Naga Jhansi, famous for 'Pavitra Bandham', found dead in Hyderabad

 A 21-year old Telugu television artiste was found dead in her apartment in Hyderabad, police said Wednesday. 

Naga Jhansi's brother found her hanging from the ceiling fan after he forcibly opened the door when she did not respond to the doorbell Tuesday night, a police official said.

"We were told that she had a boyfriend who apparently started neglecting her of late. We are inquiring into it. Her brother found her dead on Tuesday night at around 8.30," Punjagutta police inspector B Mohan Kumar said. 

The deceased hailed from Krishna district and had acted in several TV serials and a few movies. 

Jhansi became popular with the serial 'Pavitra Bandham' on Star Maa.   
 
The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad for autopsy and investigation is on, the police said. 

The incident took place in her room at Sairam Residency in Srinagar Colony. According to reports, Naga Jhansi used to run a beauty parlour at her residence. 

She was reportedly in a relationship with a family acquaintance, Surya for the last six months. However, reportedly, they had a break-up which affected her severely and she slipped into depression. The family was expecting to see her for a housewarming ceremony in their native village to take place on February 22.

The deceased’s brother Durgaprasad used to live with her and admitted that she was suffering from depression and not was not going for her film shoots for the past few days. Apparently, she was also not accepting any more offers of late. Her relatives have allegedly confirmed the relationship and that the family didn’t approve of it. According to reports, both her mother and brother have said that Surya used to 'harass' her and forced her to quit acting.

The police has not recovered any suicide note. However, reportedly, the police found a WhatsApp chat just before the incident, between her and Surya, which they will be investigating.
