Thai elephants take out silent march for their 'cousins' dying in Australia bushfire

School students and a troupe of elephants took part in a silent march at a Thai elephant camp on January 13 to stand in solidarity with Australia bushfires.

School students and a troupe of elephants took part in a silent march at a Thai elephant camp on January 13 to stand in solidarity and raise awareness for millions of animals killed in Australia's dely bushfires. Elephants along with ir mahouts held up placards that has a mess saying "Pray for Australia". event was organized by Ayutthaya Elephant Palace & Royal Kraal with pictures and cartoons of animals.

A primary school student, Laksaporn Loetpiriyakamol said that he stands in support with wild animals in Australia and wants all of m to stay alive. Michelle Reedy, an Australian volunteer at camp said that elephants are really s realising what is happening to ir cousins in Australia. Australia is facing a massive crisis as several parts of country are ravd by dely bushfires affecting people and animals. bushfire this season is seemingly unprecedented as it is being termed as worst summer in history of nation. Australia has been under crisis since September 2019 where over 480 million animals and more than 1,000 homes have been affected by trdy.

International charitable organizations like Australian Red Cross, Salvation Army, and Vinnies are alrey on ground helping locals by providing food, clothing and or essential items. People have lost ir homes, properties and or belongings in ongoing bushfire crisis and n-governmental institutions are doing ir best to help m rebuild ir lives.

You can play your valuable part by donating to any of se organisations that are currently present at fire front. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on January 12 anunced that he will propose a national review in response to ongoing disaster after raging bushfires claimed ar life. Ar firefighter was killed by a falling tree while battling crisis overnight ding to list of casualties. Till w fires have killed 28 people and over a billion animals.
