Trump Honors Fallen Firefighter Corey Comperatore, Kisses His Gear During RNC Speech

On Day 4 of the RNC, Trump paid tribute to the firefighter who lost his life during the shooting in Pennsylvania; his special gesture moved the crowd deeply.

Milwaukee: During his speech on the fourth day of the Republican National Convention (RNC), Donald Trump honoured the firefighter who was killed by the shooter during the rally in Pennsylvania. 

Trump embraced Corey's firefighter gear as a tribute to him and also observed a moment of silence during his speech.

After narrating the instances of that horrific day, Trump honoured the firefighter who had lost his life in the shooting in Pennsylvania and also thanked the other two supporters who were injured by the bullet.

Calling them ‘serious Trumpsters’, Trump said that he would never forget them.

Remembering the firefighter Corey Comperatore, Trump said, “Corey unfortunately, we have to use past tense for him. He was a highly respected fire chief, respected by everybody…"

Trump went on to say, "He lost his life selflessly acting as a human shield to protect them (his wife and two daughters) from flying bullets. He went right over the top of them and was hit. What a fine man he was.”

Trump Kisses the Firefighter's Gear, Observes A Moment of Silence

While speaking on stage, Trump suddenly stopped and pointed to his right; Corey Comperatore's firefighter gear was on a mannequin.

Trump then walked to the gear, stood before it and holding the shoulders, pecked the head of the gear.

His gesture was accepted with a loud applause and it moved the audience to tears; he also thanked the fire department and Corey's family for sending his gear.

Trump says that more than $6 million has been raised in a fund to benefit victims’ families.

He then asked for a moment of silence in honor of the former fire chief.
