Turkish citizens are not hopeful the new American president will improve relations between the United States and its NATO ally.Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th president of the United States on Wednesday, declaring that "democracy has prevailed" and summoning American resilience and unity to confront the deeply divided nation's historic confluence of crises.

Analysts have predicted that strained ties between Turkey and the US could take a turn for the worse with Biden at the helm. He takes a dimmer view than Donald Trump on Turkey's military interventions or relations with Russia. "Whether it's Biden or Trump, it makes no difference for Turkey, that's my personal opinion," 63-year-old Turkish citizen Aydin Sonmez told the AP.
