Two new cases of coronavirus in Japan showed no symptoms

The two cases were among the 206 Japanese evacuees who returned on Wednesday by plane from the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the virus originated.

Two new positive cases of new coronavirus in Japan showed prior symptoms of disease, a health official said Thursday.

two cases were among 206 Japanese evacuees who returned on Wednesday by plane from Chinese city of Wuhan, where virus originated.

Takaji Wakita of National Institute of Infectious Diseases said it was first time in Japan that people h been tested positive for new virus without having first shown symptoms of it.

Shigeru Omi of Japan Community Health Care Organization says it was possible two people concerned h spre virus furr.

He urged Japanese health authorities to work on that basis.

"That means y carry virus even though y are t showing any symptoms ... and I recommend stepping up measures on assumption that asymptomatic people could also infect ors," Omi said.
