British Prime Minister Borish Johnson has recently anunced a new fast-track visa scheme for top scientists, researchers, and mamaticians. According to reports, Global Talent visa will be open from February 20 to those who work in a qualifying field and have been endorsed by a recognised UK body. Johnson has ditionally also unveiled an extra £300 million pack for 'experimental and imaginative mamatical sciences research' over next five years.
UK PM Boris Johnson revealed plan just days before Brexit day on January 31. While speaking to a British media outlet, Johnson said that as UK is leaving EU he wanted to send a mess that Britain is open to most talented minds in world, and stands rey to support m to turn ir idea into reality. With new plan, UK government hopes to introduce a new points-based immigration system on January 1, 2021, for EU and n-EU citizens.

Global Talent Visa will furr replace old Tier 1 or Exceptional Talent visa which allowed applicants to be endorsed by Royal Society, Royal Acemy of Engineering, British Acemy, Tech Nation or Arts Council England. According to reports, only 550 of old visas were issued in 2018-19, which was way below cap of 2,000. new uncapped scheme is expected to be more enticing as UK Research and Invation funding ncy will also be able to recommend applicants.

UK PM Johnson reportedly said that UK has a proud history of scientific discovery, but to le field and face challenges of future country needs to continue to invest in talent and cutting-edge research. Under new scheme, applicants will also t need a job offer before arriving in UK and it will furr provide an accelerated path to settlement for all scientists and researchers who are endorsed.
