Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on September 23 that he would meet Iranian President Hassan Rouhani at this week's UN General Assembly in New York. Johnson stressed need for a diplomatic response to Gulf tensions and said that Britain would consider any request for military assistance. He said he wanted Britain to gap bridge between European friends and Americans when it comes to crisis in Gulf.

UK PM: UK to work with allies to de-escalate Gulf tensions

Britain h recently kept away from accusing any party for drone and missile attack until Saudi Arabia and United States state Iran was responsible. Britain has also concluded that Iran was responsible for attacks on Saudi Aramco oil fields in Saudi Arabia.

Johnson said that UK will partner with US-led military effort to strengn Gulf region's defences. Prime Minister Boris Johnson also said that UK would work with allies to de-escalate middle east tensions that have escalated since September 14 attacks on world’s largest oil processor and an oil field.

According to reports, Johnson will also hold talks with U.S. President Donald Trump, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and French President Emmanuel Macron. Britain along with or European nations still sticks to an international deal designed to limit Iran’s nuclear ambitions, but Trump has pulled U.S. out of agreement. He said Britain will follow situation very closely and considered to provide any help asked eir by Saudis or by Americans.
