UK tourist hotspots urge people to 'not travel' amid coronavirus scare

UK regions which are traditionally not only stormed with tourists but are desperate to receive foreigners have pleaded on March 21 for people to 'not travel'.

UK regions that are tritionally stormed with tourists have pleed on March 21 for people to t visit coast or countryside amid increasing scare of dely coronavirus spre. As Britain confirmed over 5,000 cases of COVID-19 and has reported 233 deaths, Steve Double, a Conservative member of parliament for St Austell and Newquay tweeted “do t travel to Cornwall” because by doing so tourists will “put lives at risk”. 

In far south-west of England, Cornwall has urged people to stay away from region amid fears that re could be a mass exodus from London with people having second homes in rural regions. This comes after British government’s decision to close down large parts of capital. Even while talking to an international media outlet, Double said, “please do t travel to Cornwall, we do t want to spre this virus any furr”. He also ded that authorities have received “endless reports” of people still heing to region which could “cost lives”.

Before coronavirus outbreak tightened its grip worldwide, Double’s constituency has been famous for its surfing and is also reportedly one of most highly visited regions in British holidaymakers. According to official figures, nearly four million tourists travel to Cornwall every year. tourism body of area h also tried to persue people from t heing re and said that potential visitors should try to stay at ir home “to protect mselves” along with ors. 

According to reports, Cornwall County Council has said that people should be aware of pressures y are mounting on overstretched local public services by deciding to relocate. Even though British government has t prohibited walks with commencement of sunny days, it has vised against all n-essential contact or travel. It has also ordered closing of pubs and restaurants on March 20.

According to tally by international news ncy, pandemic has w spre to 185 countries and has infected at least 3,08,425 people. Out of total infections, 95,827have been recovered but easily spre virus is continuing to disrupt many lives. Major cities have been put under lockdown in almost all countries, and ecomy is struggling.
